I don’t know the name, all I know is that she’s Ms. Urbanova. Maybe I’ll get to know it someday, maybe she doesn’t need one. It reflects her unimaginable power, her amazonianflair is unclear. She doesn’t want to speak about her past. At least not for now, she says.

The fashion show on friday was crazy! I actually don't know how the clothes looked on the runway, but the backstage was all I hoped for and even more. Kristina Lovko presented her new clothes colletion, Ema Bavcon her brooches and Anja Kert (as in myself) with lingerie.

I would like to say thank you to everybody that came to support us, all the lovely models, the hairstylists, DJ, the technical support and of course to Marko, Ema and Kristina!

Here are some pictures by Matej Leskovšek, I would like to post more, but I can't find them on the internet. So if anybody does, pls post a link! And please do tell your opinion!

On Saturday we went to IKEA and my mother bought a new wash-stand with basin. It was late when we came home and we had a party to attend to. On Sunday we continued the party and went fishing and then on a picnic :) I was exhausted!
But when we came home (yes we still haven't finished our apartment!) there was work waiting for us, that is my boyfriend and me. My mother and sister started putting together the wash-stand and in the middle of it had to go somewhere. So we picked up where they left and it took us about three hours to complete it.

We started with the disassembly of the old sink and cabinet. It was quite easy to remove all of the plumbing. If you do this just be sure to put a bowl underneath, because there is water stored in the siphon that prevents the smell to come back to the bathroom. Then we disconnected the tap. Again be sure to close the water before doing this! This can usually be done by turning the valve under the sink. If you can't find a valve you'll have to turn the water off for the whole building. When you have done this, turn the tap on to drain out the remaining water in the system.

I advise you to put a cloth in the drain tube or it will smell badly! To take the tap of the sink, we had to unscrew the nut - see the picture.

It is always easier to put something apart and I think you will manage the rest :) Just one more tip. How to get rid of the silicon that remains on the tiles? It is very simple with the razor that you use on the ceramic stove - like the one on the picture. Then just clean the residue with alcohol.

So to the harder part - putting it back together. My advice - follow the instruction carefully! IKEA instructions are really detailed and it is quite easy to do it!

Once you put the whole thing together, you will have to fix it to the wall. First mark where you need to make the holes and then carefully start making them. Drill a small hole and then use larger drill and expand the first hole, so you don't break the tile. We cooled the drill with water, because the heat would make the tile break quicker. Then we fixed the cabinet on the wall. On the photo you can see which thing goes first :)

Make sure that the cabinet doesn't lean on one side!

Then put the sink on the wash-stand and secure it with silicon. Next step is to do the plumbing... About this next time! See ya

My latest work was a futuristic project with Anže Vrabl. He named the series Age of what :) We shot at new NKBM bank office in Ljubljana. Its interior is inspired by 1970's, when everyone was dreaming about future and outer space. It was the perfect location! My make up was inspired by the Twiggy and then transferred into future. I think I did a pretty good job. What do you think?

Another project I've been working on for our new home is sunburst mirror. I found the tutorial on this amazing blog Isabella & Max Rooms written by Janell.

You can find her tutorial here. Her mirror looks amazing and her home is really beautiful!

She inspired me to make my own. The first problem was where to find a mirror. It's not so easy in Slovenia to find cheap mirrors with frame. So I went with one without it. I found it at Dipo for 21 eur. Next I needed some branches. I found them at IKEA for about 2 eur for one pack of 20, maybe 30. I needed five of them. I got lucky and they were already painted white.

Then I followed the instructions and realized that it would look so much better if I glued the branches on the back... Of course I thought about that after I glued quite a lot of them already :) After that it went perfectly! I was done in one day!

Then the real problems started. Because the mirror has no frame it also had nothing to hang it on the wall. I don't know where will we put it, so the gluing it to the wall wasn't an option. We went to a hobby shop, then to frame shop and no one knew what to do. At the fifth store the saleswoman suggested that we 'glue' a hanging hook with silicon. We did it and it looked great! Till the next morning... when we found it on the floor, luckily not broken, but the branches did fall of or brake.

Now we glued hooks with two component adhesive, fixed the branches and ta - da!

It will look amazing in our home when we finish it! Comments always make me happy! :)

I've been neglecting this blog and I am really sorry. Two posts back I wrote about making a cake... Well it turned out awful :/ It was njumy but it look horrible! I didn't know what to do. Admit that I failed or just not saying anything. It took me quite a long time to decide to show it to you guys!

One of my favorite pages to browse throug is Tastespotting. I just spend the last half an hour looking for recipe for a birthday cake for my mom. And I finally got it on page 141! That's a lot of pages to go through...And I just have to tell somebody! It's a good thing my mom doesn't go on my blog that often...hihi

This weekend my boy and were working on our chairs. I wrote about them already and now we are finally renovating them.

We are painting them black and making new upholstery. We got the chairs for free, the fabric is from IKEA (about 5eur/m), the foam is from another project so it was kind of free and we had to buy the stapler and the paint (all for around 35 eur). That sums up about 70 eur, but I guess we won't need all the fabric we bought.

This is how they looked before.

We had to repair them a bit and then painted them black. The last picture shows new upholstery and my BF at work.

They are going to be awesome!

At the end of the January I was in London for IMATS. It was so inspiring and just awesome! Most of the time I spend in Alexandra Palace, but as little free time as I had, I spend it to go to my favourite places. This time I also went to Portobello Road and I fell in love. I guess there really isn't a place in LDN that I wouldn't like.
It's obvious that I spend a lot of money right... I couldn't go there and not by tones of make up! Well in the end I didn't buy tones, just a few things...that were a bit expensive. [blush]

I loved Einat Dan's performance. She is just great artist, with few flaws, but I don't mind! I wish I could go to her class in June on Bodypainting festival, but it already full. [sad face] Google her! I won't paste pictures of her work here :)

One of my fav pages to find inspiration. I will be working on dresses for fairies and I am browsing through pages...and I just can't go past some things that I want/like/adore/etc.

I want to have my flat done already! It's been six months now! And I'm going crazy for not being there! So what I would like to do is to host a housewarming party! In this dress :

I've been writing my diploma for a while now and I came across some books that are interesting and beautiful! I don't know if they are useful and I don't really care. I love books and so does my boyfriend, that's why we are going to have a big bookshelf in our flat. I'm so excited!

Now we have to make sure that these shelves are full, don't we!

Decades of Fashion is the first book that I would like to own. It's about designers from Coco Chanel to Alexander McQueen and models that wrote the fashion history. I guess I'm not the real fashion addict but I actually love fashion amongst other things :)

Face of the Century is the second book and I actually already own this one. It's about makeup of the 20th century, but not just trends, it's also about advertising, moral views and industry. It's a bit hard to read, jet it is very useful.

Reiko Kruk: Metamorphose is the next book. I have no word for it. She is an amazing makeup artist! I have to have this book!

There are two more...but I can't remember the titles...

We have new windows! They are just simple white plastic windows, so there is no point in showing them is it? But the view is beautifull!

So it is morning again..and I'm eating gingerbread cookies with cranberry tea! I love Christmas time, even if it's still two months away!

Today I will be working on our coffee table and dining chairs. We got them from his parents, his cousin and from my grandpa. They are in quite good state for their age, but still in need of a makeover.

I was going to do something like this, but it's actually really hard to do it :) And the furniture that we got is painted dark brown and it is impossible to get rid of that colour! When it was gone (after 3 hours for just one leg!) the wood didn't look like this in the picture, it looked doll...

So we decided to go for a different look. Like this one :

I suck at writing blog :) And I would like to apologize to those who read it, for not posting anything!

So here's what was going on since I wrote the last entry...
I decided to move in with my boyfriend and we are renovating the 1st floor in his parents house so we can live there. And I can't stop thinking about all rooms and floors, colors of walls, furniture,...there is actually a lot I could write about, but I just don't...and maybe it's time to start writing about it, not just sitting and doing nothing :)

So here is the floor plan of the flat...

We have a big kitchen and living room facing west (on the left side) and then huge master bedroom, a small computer and craft room, bathroom with utility and stairs. Altogether about 100 m2.

My inspiration for the interior are swedish homes with a lot of light, white colour and few darker items. Something like these photographs...

It's exciting and at the same time nerve wracking to design and build a home for yourself! I'm enyojing every moment, but I wish it would already be completed and I could finally move in! And I promise you I will keep posting how everything is developing :)

Morocco dreams!

It's been more than 3 months since our fashion show! Time is passing by so quickly :) And to be honest I spent these 3 months mostly doing nothing :) or at least nothing that had to be done for school!

And this is why these photos are coming now. I am so sick of this school and professors that the thing I loved to do is that appealing any more.

The clothes on the photos are those from fashion show. All designed by me, also I did the hair and make up. The photographer was Matej Ograjenšek with his assistant Andrej and the model was Katarina Marn from Model Group.

And the third post today :)

This one is longer and it means so much to me :) I made this jewelry myself so I wanted to be perfect! I didn't want something that has already been seen. I wanted it to be special and that everyone could tell it is handmade and unique. I think I have managed to do that, but it's up to you to decide whether you like it or not :)

Next step was to choose the right photographer and the right models... It took me a lot of thinking and again I am very, very pleased!

Another day, another post. My voice just left me and I need to get all those words out so I write :)

Yesterday two men wanted to stole my motorbike from our garden! I guess even at home we are not as safe as we would like to be. It's time to buy pepper spray. If I was alone yesterday I don't know what would I do.. Thank god for my big and strong boyfriend :)

Facebook is such a weird thing, isn't it? I post some photos there and in the same day I get at least 10 friend requests. It goes the same for the model or photographer that made those photos...An amazing phenomenon! haha

Shadow

If it won't leave me alone it's no  surprise that I'm shrillbut to no avail, my shadow  follows me still.
When sunlight reveals my frown,  that only fills it with glee.
Yet on a moonlit  night it never fails to locate me.
Until my  shadow appears the only thing that is true
appearing  in a flash on any wall within view.
 

But increasingly I realise that it is pleasing after all
to have such a constant companion, then I recall
that the only times my shadow has left me alone
have been the darkest times that I have known.
And so it fills me with delight to have my shadow about

It's finally behind me! My very first fashion show :) And now I'm sick...

So many things happened I don't know where to start! I'm just gonna tell u sth about the show first.
It was actually a part of events on Ljubljana - world book capital 2010 and so the main topic was book. This was the end of a school project in which all the students participated, but the 1st and 2nd year only with 1 or 2 garments and we, the 3rd and final year, with 5-6.

My inspiration comes from Marocco and my diary from the trip. I collected photos and put them together to get new patterns and shapes. I digitally printed all the fabric and make simple clothes, so that the fabric really pops out.
After long long preparations D day came. It was crazy! I was nervous and the organization was a disaster! But it all ended well and the whole show was amazing!!

A little update...I have been really busy these past two weeks because of the fashion show that is happening in less than a month! And for the past two weeks I have been sleeping for less than 7 hours a day and working more than 12...most of that time I spent in school sitting next to the printing machine and watching that nothing went wrong...

We have done a few photoshootings in between everything and here are some results..I will post them in seperate posts so it's more organized and easier to find :)

So first is the one that we did with Petra Nuzdorfer and Katarina Štamulak and was shot at the same day as the Definitely not my day series (few posts back)...What can I say...a kick ass photographer (that is photographing fashion for 4 months or sth!!!) and an awesome model that really knows how to show feelings and me :) Wouldn't change anything!

Next day we went to Vršič to do the second part of wedding photographs...Just going there was a bit of adventure itself, because there is around 20 curves the get to the top and already on the second one a bus got stuck..so we waited and waited, then finally one guy got the nerves to drive on the grass in so we all got pass the bus but with some minor bruises on the car...wow that's a long sentence! hehe
so we finally arrived there, same team as the day before, only the bride changed...What can I say, Anže is so popular that he gets to be the groom twice in one weekend and with different brides :) This time his lovely spouse was Barbara from Loox Model Management, one of the most perspective Slovenian models that have worked in Milano and Paris.

So the day was great and I will let the photos speak for themselves. Again many many thanks to the whole team and I hope that we will work together again soon!

www.first-finger.com team contacted me in July last year for a wedding photoshoot. It was a bit different then any other photoshoot and very interesting and fun :)

With Ciril, Matjaž, Dragan (the three photographers) and the rest of the team (stylist, hairstylist and models) we started the day in Izola with all preparations...Then we drove to Sečovlje Salina Natural Park...

Next it was to this old shipyard...

And then to a beautiful villa on top of the hill overlooking Slovenian coast with a pool that was the main reason why we went there...

What I wore today - going to school

omg! I have more than 500 visitors (exactly 550, unique of course)! and more than 50 a day! So thank you guys for reading my blog!!!!

Today was a really busy day...I was printing fabric for our end of school year fashion show and it took about 6 hours with all the waiting...I'm soooooo tired now!!! And it didn't even come out well..So I have to repeat it, besides printing all other...
At least now I know how to do it and I don't have to ask the teacher every single little thing.

What I wore today - when taking my dog out for a walk

Today is such a beautiful day! The sun is shining and it's really warm outside... It also started perfectly with breakfast (eggs, avocado and fresh orange juice), then we were just relaxing and finally we decided to go for a long walk (that ended up in a cafe :)...
Now I have some school work to do so I'm back behind the computer just looking out and listening to birds singing...

I was wearing:

what I wore today - going to dinner with my boyfriend

I love spring... It's getting warm, but not hot... birds are singing and flowers are blooming :) how romantic!
This spring I'm all about flower prints, blue color and light materials... And since I'm still a student also clothes from last spring will come in handy :)

So what did I wear today:
- shoes Zara
- tights Top Shop (from London)
- skirt from Camden Town (London)
- blouse Stradivarius
- trench H&M (my latest addition)
- bracelet H&M

Make up - soft eyeshadow (paris Berlin) with black mascara (Oriflame) to extend the lashes, pink blush (Coastal Sands) - very soft and pink lipstick (Oriflame), preferably matte - this is a day make up, that I'm going to wear this spring... With some adjustments depending on the mood I'm in and the clothes and occassion.

Today I discovered this amazing page where you can load pictures of your parents before they were your parents...It's called My parents were amazing :) I know mine were… Well they still are actually (at least my mom, since my dad died)...So why not post their photos...

And this is how the hunt for old photos began... We have all old albums pack in a box and stored in attack... And I just couldn't resist going through all of them! I was soooooo cute when I was little!!! I had this curly brown hair that was usually in two ponytails and big rounded cheeks! hehe...but today is about my parents!

So here is my mum when she was young... I guess around 8? It's hard to imagine that our parents were young once, isn't it?

And these are my parents at 20-something at their wedding...They look like they are from dynasty! Behind them is my aunt - my mother’s sister and on the right my father’s uncle - who is about the same age as he is... Big families with a lot of children :)

there is sth I would like to ask you..I would love to have a polaroid.. but not this new, digital one..I like the light and the texture... the old polaroid one 600 on film is just perfect :D

the problem now is that polaroid stopped making films... yes I know they are still available on ebay... but they all expire next year.. what then???

There is rumor that Lady Gaga is developing new Polaroid.. but will it be digital or on films??

Is it worth buying the one 600 now?

On Saturday we did a photoshoot with Anže Godec (click here for his site)...the theme was Circus...

We met in Ljubljana for make up and stuff and then we drove near Domžale to some old house...It was sunny and the atmosphere was really great so we did some awesome photos!

it's been a while...again!

I apologize to those that read my blog and don't actually have anything to read :)

I have been very very lazy..it was the exam period and I wasted it on doing nothing at all...well my sims grew old and that's about it...until this sunday when Matej Ograjenšek woke me up and we did a photo shoot... in my opinion a very good one..but please do tell yours...
I made myself a dress yestersay and I'll post pics tomorrow..and then on sunday a I have another photo shoot and on saturday another one..and since school started already I think that monday is finally the time for me to visit it again...

I'm running out of ideas what to write about. I have been so busy and it's gonna become even harder since the exams are coming...

So I have decided to begin my 30 day challenge I already wrote about... (you know - 30 days of new combinations of clothes...)

so here is #1! (maybe I won't post a new outfit every day since I'm going to be home a lot studying and stuff and I think I can't really do any crazy new things with an old sweat pants and some old t-shirts, can I?)

So here it goes! Have in mind that it was 7 o'clock and I am definitely not a morning person!

If I wasn't going to school and if it wasn't 7 in the morning I would also wear red lipstick :)

This whole weekend I have been working on a school project made in Blender (3d design)... It takes a lot of time to make even the smallest piece.
This is a recently rendered picture of my interior :)

That on the floor on the left is a carpet...it's not a puddle :p

When I'm not working on this project it's most likely you will find me at work - doing nails! and today I even found the time to make myself some nail art.. it's a bit african or sth like that...native?

This is a review of my work in the past year...I started looking back on my blog and on my computer and I have realized I have done lots and lots!
I'm proud of myself! :)

January

The year started with an idea to make an exhibition with Oto Žan, the photographer :)
In school we had a photoshoot and I did the make up.. here are some photos and the dress I made for that photoshoot.
I also did make up for a movie, but unfortunately it was never completed :/

February

The search for models was on...
It was examination period so there wasn't much going on.

March

We did a photoshoot with Mikica and photographer Sašo Domijan. And with Laura and Oto Žan for my school project.

I think we also did one with Katarina and Andraž Blaznik in March..But I'm not sure..

April

We shot Geishas (all photos from the exhibition are here) and I went to London with Matej.

May

Somewhere between February and May we've done all photos for exhibition that took place on 13th May :)
I worked with Mikica and Sašo in Kolezija and with Lara and Andraž Blaznik in Maribor.

June

Lev Predan Kowarski - photographer and The MC Laren band (just two photos so this post isn't toooooo long:)
Sašo Domijan and the dancers (Mikica and her friends) were next and then Anže Godec with his models...next it was with Andraž Blaznik and Mikica and Dijana....and then with Matej Ograjenšek and Mikica and Dijana...and a music video for Mury Krasnik...even I was a model once!

July

I was working with Matej Ograjenšek and Diana, next it was with the Firts-finger.com team - Ciril Jazbec, Dragan Zlatanovič and Matjaž Tančič - for their web page... one of most interesting and exhausting photoshoots :) (I will do a post about it someday)

August

With Andraž Blaznik we did a photoshot in Jezersko...and with Maja Lazar for her fashion show/exhibition we shot a video with Barbara....that's it! I was lazy in August!

I have been so lazy lately! I'm behind with school work and with this blog. My eyes are shutting as I'm writing this and I'm in the middle of a shopping mall waiting for someone to stop by so I can make her/his hand and nails beautiful. Quite a job ain't it? :)

So what have I been up to?

As I wrote before we had a photoshoot yesterday. It was OK, maybe not what we all expected but some good pics will surely come out (I didn't see them yet).

I took my pattern to Mumino today so they will make me screen (I am not sure if this is the right word) so I can print it on fabric! Can't wait until thursday when I get it!

Tomorrow I have a presentation about a Slovenian company called Lisca and I still haven't corrected it!

I have lots and lots of school projects to do, but I just don't have the energy!

So here I am feeling sorry for myself :)

Good thing is that I have a new sweater! And a t-shirt. And sun glasses. And another shirt;)

You will hear from me soon, hopefuly next time in a better mood and with a lot of energy to share ( today I gave you the last drops of it;)

Yesterday we did a photoshoot...It was kind of last minute and everything very improvised:) but we nailed it! hehe

here are some behind the scene pictures...
We shot at the Cukrarna bar in Kranj..It closed at the end of the year and it was so f***** cold in there:) Imagine what the model went through!

The photographer was Andraž Blaznik, who today went back to London..or didn't because of all the snow here. The model is Stefania from Bronz Models.

Tomorrow I'm working with another photographer..more about this tomorrow..it's gonna be fun :)

It's me again! I must say that I have been a really good girl this year! I write this blog every day, I went running twice (once in high heels to catch cheaper parking, which btw i didn't catch 'cause they cheat - their hour is 10 minutes early!, so I'm not sure this counts) and I'm enjoying myself!

But there is another new year's resolution I came up with now...I won't use even one plastic bottle this whole year (those that I already have at home don't count - i just won't buy any new ones - of course I mean those with beverages, not those with shampoo and stuff... :)

And another one - wear all the clothes in my closet - mix and match! Yesterday I was reading a blog where the blogger had this 30 day challenge - not to wear the same thing twice (or at least in the same combination, 'cause you would have to have a lot of clothes for that..)
So I've decided to try it out myself...someday:) And I will post daily outfit here...

And so here is the first one:

Veronica decides to die...a book by Paulo Coelho...and my inspiration for patterns that will be printed on fabric.

It's about a girl in her 20's from Ljubljana, Slovenija. And one day she decides to commit suicide and she ends up in a mental institution. It's a story about how she deals with the fact that she is dying and she realizes that she doesn't want to die anymore.

My favourite part is when she discovers other Veronicas in herself and she loves them!

Ko sem vzela tablete, sem hotela ubiti Veroniko, ki sem jo sovražila. Nisem vedela, da so v meni še druge Veronike, ki bi jih zmogla imeti rada.

I already posted one of the patterns...here are some more - but they are still in developing phase :)

It snowing outside! Isn't that great! I love white all around me and the lights on christmas tree still on:)

Right now I am sooooo hungry, but I just don't know what to cook... I was thinking soya and some fries...but I'm just too lazy! hihi.. maybe just some bread? oh wait..i think we don't have it...

well this is actually a post about my work - make up :)
we did this shooting in late november with one of the best young photographers Žiga Mihelčič, we also had a great stylist Maja Lazar and hairstylist, who doesn't want to be named. And I must not forget about our models - Katarina, Nataša and Nika.
I would, again, like to thank you all very very much!

The theme was dolls and beauty in a piece of a mirror:) hope you like it and please comment!

guess what! I went running today! it was so f****** cold! my throat still hurts :)

it's time for a new post...this one is tagged media...that means that I write about magazines, books, movies, etc.

First magazine that I would like to recommend is PUSH IT magazine -Croatia, Serbia and Bosnia-Herzegovina's 1st International style magazine!

I ordered the first two issues online and they came in about a week, since they print it in LDN or at least that’s where they came from :)
The whole image is very professional and you just can't put it down, when you start :) I think I got through them for at least 10 times!

This is the cover of the first issue..It's more a book-zine, than magazine I guess...

on the first few pages are interviews whit Balkan's artists (from models, photographers, DJs, to painters and graphic designers)...after this few pages there are only editorials...to the last page :) and really good ones..great photographs and styling and of course some great make up :)

happy new year!!!

it's already 2/1/2010 and I still didn't go running :)

but here I am writing my second post, so I guess I am fulfilling my resolutions :)

this post is about make up... I was reading a book about Audrey Hepburn - A Life in Pictures, who is one of my favorite actress and certainly a woman with style. Her beauty is everlasting and that is why I chose one of her picures and used her make up for inspiration.

I have acomplished far more tthan I had ever hoped. Most of the time it happened to me without my ever seeking it.

on saturday we went to a party...it would be better to wear jeans and a warm sweater since the party was in a garage with open doors and freezing...luckly we soon went to Tuš Planet..it was warmer but boring so we went home:) even the cocktails there ain't the same as last years...it just sugar..no alco, no juice :/

i'm wearing zara boots, dress, orsay blazer and new yorker purse :)

Here are some photos of my newest project named shibori. Shibori is a Japanese term for several methods of dyeing cloth with a pattern by binding, stitching, folding, twisting, or compressing it. My inspiration was the eye.

Now I'm working on some t-shirts from the same collection, which will be displayed from 17/07/09 till 27/07/09 in ŠKUC, Ljubljana. It will be possible to buy them there. ;)
